Who we are

Earbuds Labs ("we", "us", "our") operates the Earbuds Labs mobile applications and the website earbudslabs.com (together, the "Service"). We are an independent developer and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. or Xiaomi Corporation.

For any privacy question, contact us at privacy@earbudslabs.com.

Information we collect

Account information. If you create an account, we collect your email address and, if you sign in with a third party, the basic profile fields that provider returns (name, avatar URL).

Device data. To pair your earbuds, the app processes local Bluetooth identifiers and firmware information from your buds. This data is used on-device and, where you enable cloud sync, stored under your account.

Usage data. We collect anonymous crash logs, app version, OS version, device model, and feature usage counters to improve reliability.

Purchase data. If you purchase a subscription, our payments processor provides us with a transaction receipt, subscription status, and country. We never receive your full card number.

Support communications. When you email us, we retain the message and any information you include.

What we do not collect

  • We do not access your GPS location.
  • We do not read the audio your earbuds play or record any microphone input.
  • We do not sell personal information to third parties.
  • We do not use advertising trackers or third-party ad SDKs.

How we use your information

  • Operate and maintain the Service (pair devices, sync your EQ and settings, deliver widgets).
  • Authenticate you and secure your account.
  • Process subscription purchases and prevent fraud.
  • Diagnose crashes and improve performance.
  • Respond to support requests.
  • Send transactional emails (password resets, receipts). We do not send marketing email without opt-in.

Legal bases (EEA / UK users)

We process personal data under the following bases: performance of a contract (running the Service you asked for), our legitimate interests (security, product improvement), your consent (optional analytics or communications, where required), and compliance with legal obligations.

Service providers we use

We share limited personal data with the following processors, each under a written data-processing agreement:

  • Google Firebase (Google LLC / Google Ireland Ltd.) — authentication, cloud storage of your app settings, push notifications, and crash reporting.
  • AppStack — product analytics and A/B testing on anonymised event data.
  • RevenueCat, Inc. — subscription management and receipt validation.
  • Apple App Store & Google Play — payment processing for in-app purchases.

These providers may transfer data to the United States or other countries. Where required, transfers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.

Data retention

Account data is retained while your account is active. If you delete your account, we erase or anonymise personal data within 30 days, except where we must retain it for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes (up to 7 years for financial records). Anonymous analytics is retained up to 24 months.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to object to certain uses. Residents of California (CCPA/CPRA), the EEA/UK (GDPR), and other jurisdictions with similar laws can exercise these rights by emailing privacy@earbudslabs.com. You can also delete your account directly from the app under Settings › Account › Delete account.

You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We use TLS in transit, encryption at rest for account data, and least-privilege access controls. No system is perfectly secure; if we become aware of a breach affecting your data, we will notify you and any relevant authority as required by law.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the current version.
